Frequently Asked Questions
Here we have provided answers to frequently asked questions on our services. If the answer isn’t here just CONTACT US and we will answer any queries you may have
How much does it cost?
Our services are provided to you at no extra cost. You will only pay the cost of the individual treatment services we refer you into at their standard rates or in certain circumstances a reduced rate negotiated by us on your behalf. The management of your care and journey through treatment is met through negotiated fees from the treatment centre. We charge all the treatment providers the same percentage of the cost of treatment and have no “special” rates with any one provider ensuring our independence.
Are there any additional costs?
We will usually make additional charges for In-person assessments. This cost will be discussed with you and will include an hourly rate for the assessor and travel costs to wherever you wish the assessment to be carried out. There may be some additional costs incurred if we are referring you outside the UK or if you request specific additional input from us but you will be kept informed of any extra costs at all time and we will not make any additional charges without first agreeing them with you. We will also charge for the cost of any travel we are arranging on your behalf to and from the treatment centre. We may charge a small administration fee for this service.
How can I pay?
You pay us directly as we act as a broker on your behalf, negotiating with the treatment centre or therapist. We currently accept cleared personal cheques or cash and in the near future will be accepting most major credit cards. We take the management of your funds extremely seriously and adhere to the refund policies of the treatment provider you will be accessing. We do not hold onto any of your money that is due as a refund
How quickly can I get into treatment?
Once we identify the appropriate treatment for you, we will contact the relevant treatment provider or clinic and secure a placement for you. Once funds are cleared you could be in treatment that day.
What is Care Management?
Often referred to as Care Co-ordination or Care Planning (although technically Care Planning is an element of Care Management/Co-ordination). A person’s journey into and through treatment seldom starts and finishes with a relatively brief stay in residential treatment. The “journey” through treatment can be copmplex and multi-faceted. The function of effective Care Management/Co-ordination should ensure that all of the patient’s needs are met at every stage of their journey and that the most appropriate and necessary support is provided at the right moment in time. Care Planning and Care Management/Co-ordination have been identified as a vital element of effective treatment by the NHS in the UK. See also the section on Care Management.
What is involved in the different treatment programs?
Assessment - A process started by treatment-now.com and continued during all of your treatment by the providers
Detoxification - A supervised medical process involving prescribed medications to alleviate the withdrawal symptoms from drugs and alcohol
Day Care - A structured treatment programme involving your attendance at a treatment centre for an agreed number of hours per week
Residential Treatment - A structured and/or tailor made treatment programme delivered within a residential setting providing 24 hour supervision and support
Aftercare - A structured and individually tailored support programme bridging the gap between treatment and ongoing recovery
Counselling & Therapy - Individually planned one to one support provided by a single therapist
Family Therapy - Often forgotten but key in many people’s recovery is the support of an understanding family. Family therapy aims to support the family members and significant others during the clients treatment and to facilitate the development of their understanding of the part they play. This can be provided either in the community or in a residential setting
How long does treatment last?
Detoxification (Detox) - Commonly between 5 days and 2 weeks depending upon level of use and drugs used
Day Care - Anywhere between 2 weeks and 3 months
Residential Treatment - Anywhere between 4 weeks and 12 weeks in primary treatment and additionally should you or the patient require further residential treatment a further 3 to 12 months could be beneficial
Aftercare - Anywhere between 6 months and 1 year. However, the intensity of this provision would normally reduce over time. Aftercare can often be provided free of charge (within the cost of treatment paid for originally). However, should the treatment centre you have attended be overseas or too far away for you to return to for Aftercare sessions we will ensure that we source the most appropriate provider/therapist to continue the support you require
Individual Therapy - From as little as 6 one-hour sessions to several years depending upon individual client need
Family therapy - This could take the form of a family weekend therapeutic break, several family counselling sessions or including the family for 1 day a week during the clients treatment provision
